It turned out to be quite an unfavorable game for Lucknow Super Kings skipper KL Rahul against Royal Challengers Bangalore yesterday. Rahul not only suffered a serious injury but also had to end up on the losing side last night at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Apart from a thrilling chase, the match was marked by a heated altercation between Virat Kohli and Lucknow’s mentor Gautam Gambhir.
But there was one particular moment that stood out among all. Despite leaving the field early in the game due to his thigh injury, Rahul showed great bravery to come out at bat, aiming to score the winning runs for Lucknow. Rahul was only able to cope with three deliveries but soon after the match ended, Virat Kohli and Mohammed Siraj ran towards him to check the Lucknow skipper’s injury. Kohli and Siraj’s sportsmanship has been praised by cricket fans.

KL Rahul suffered an injury while on the pitch during the Bangalore heats. The incident took place on the last ball of the second when Rahul dived to save a boundary. Rahul managed a sublime attempt but he was soon spotted in serious discomfort. He was even seen holding his right thigh. Rahul then had to limp off the pitch.
Meanwhile, Lucknow bowlers put on a terrific show to limit Bangalore to a workable total of 126. Lucknow’s Afghan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq won three wickets for his team yesterday. Indian leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi, on the other hand, scripted some stunning 2/21 tricks after completing his four overs. Bangalore skipper Faf du Plessis played a vital 44 to guide his side to a respectable total.

The goal might have seemed achievable, but Lucknow’s batting lineup scoffed at the chase. The KL Rahul led side folded for just 108. Josh Hazlewood and Karn Sharma scalped two wickets each to earn an 18 run win for Bangalore. With five wins in nine matches, the team led by Faf du Plessis now ranks fifth in the IPL 2023 ranking.
