A man suspected of murder has been arrested and Devon and Cornwall Police have launched an investigation. Cops said they were called to a location near the Eclipse nightclub, with people reporting that one person was in possession of a knife and several people had been stabbed.

“At least seven other men and women have been injured and taken to hospital for treatment. None are currently being treated as life-threatening,” a spokesperson told the BBC. .

Police have arrested a 24-year-old man from Bodmin on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and intentionally causing grievous bodily harm, the BBC said in its report. The man is in custody.

Detective Inspector Ilona Rosson also told the BBC that the Major Crimes Investigation Team were treating this as an isolated case and were not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

Superintendent Rob Youngman also told the BBC that the town of Bodmin will see an increased police presence around the town as police continue their investigation.

Police have urged people not to speculate on social media.
