In the final of the first innings, Dhoni came on to bat at number 6 after Ravindra Jadeja’s wicket fell.

As the beloved captain walked onto the pitch, the iconic background music from Rajinikanth’s 1995 blockbuster “Baashha” played almost as if on cue, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

The film is considered one of the best films ever made in the history of Tamil cinema and broke several box office records. The film’s title music is a long-time favorite in this part of the country and provides goosebumps every time it is played.

The image of Dhoni walking towards the center in time to the music made the moment more picturesque and Dhoni followed the march by scoring 13 runs on the four balls he faced.

Adorably called ‘Thala’ by the yellow faithful, Dhoni crushed two sixers in the final over, which would have satisfied any CSK supporter who paid big bucks to enter the stadium.

Dhoni’s cameo helped CSK post a 200 tally as the home side capitalized on Devon Conway’s brilliant unbeaten 92-point shot.
