Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) surprised their fans on Monday by announcing the replacement of David Willey for the remainder of IPL 2023. The franchise has signed Kedar Jadhav who last represented Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2021.

Jadhav returns to RCB at its base price of Rs 1 crore. Having made his IPL debut in 2010, the Maharashtra striker has so far played 93 IPL matches and has 1196 runs against his name. He had represented Royal Challengers Bangalore in 17 games in 2016 and 2017 before joining Chennai Super Kings.

RCB’s decision to sign Jadhav midway through the season drew mixed reactions from fans. Here’s how they reacted:

Meanwhile, a few netizens trolled Suresh Raina saying that even Jadhav managed to come back to IPL. The former CSK and India star has announced his retirement from international cricket and IPL is currently on JioCinema’s commentary panel.

After being released by SRH, Jadhav failed to attract a buyer at the next player auction. He had not played any form of cricket for over a year before appearing for Maharashtra in the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy.

Prior to being signed by the RCB, Jadhav remained associated with IPL 2023 as a pundit with JioCinema who hold the online streaming rights for the T20 tournament.
