
Check how to know the PF balance On the EPFO portal
EPFO members said the e-booklet portal had been down since last week.
EPF booklet: The ability to access and download the Employees Provident Fund e-book through the EPFO portal started operating normally on Thursday. Earlier, several PF subscribers complained on social media pointing out that the e-booklet was not accessible on EPFO’s dedicated portal.
The EPF booklet is a facility that shows you the balance of your EPF account, month after month.
Many PI members claimed that the e-booklet function on the EPFO portal was not accessible for more than a week. Now that the installation is back to normal, members can easily check their balance and download the passbook from the portal.
Check the steps below to view/download your PF eBook;
- Visit the official website of EPFO (Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation): https://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/index.php
- On the home page, click on the “For employees” option in the “Our services” section.
- Click on the “Member Passbook” option from the drop-down menu.
- You will be redirected to the Membership Book login page. Enter your UAN (universal account number), password and captcha code to login.
- Once logged in, you will be able to view your EPF booklet which will contain details of your contributions, interest earned and withdrawals.
- You can also download and print your booklet for future reference.
This function is to display the member passbook for registered members on the unified member portal (https://passbook.epfindia.gov.in/MemberPassBook/Login). The booklet is available after 6 hours of registration on the unified member portal.
Credential changes on the Unified Member Portal will be effective on this portal after 6 hours. The booklet will contain entries that have been reconciled in the EPFO field offices.
The Passbook feature is not available to members of Exempt Institutions/Established Members/Active Members.
Check PF Balance via Umang Portal/App
You can also check your balance using the EPFO app on the Umang platform. Check the steps below;
Step 1. Download Umang app from Google Play, App Store and Windows Store.
Step 2. Search EPFO on the app
Step 3. Click “Show Booklet”
Step 4. Enter UAN
Step 5. Click “Get OTP and Submit OTP”
Step 6. Select “Member ID and eBook Download”
Check PF balance by SMS
UAN activated members can find out their latest PF contribution and available balance from EPFO by texting 7738299899 from a registered mobile number.
“EPFOHO UAN” at 7738299899.
The installation is available in English (default) and Hindi, Punjabi, Guajarati, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Bengali.
Check PF balance via missed call
Members registered on the UAN portal can get their contact details available from EPFO by giving a missed call to 9966044425 from their registered mobile number. The call is automatically disconnected after two rings and there is no charge for the member to benefit from this service.
If the member’s UAN is associated with any of the Bank A/C, Aadhaar and PAN numbers, the member will get the details of the last contribution and PF balance.
