After Virat Kohli’s provocative celebrations against LSG, Robin Uthappa has delivered his verdict on the heated row between Kohli, Gautam Gambhir and Naveen-ul-Haq

Royal Challengers Bangalore put in an outstanding performance to beat Lucknow Super Giants by 18 points in a low scoring IPL 2023 encounter at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Monday night.

Batting first, RCB went 126/9 from 20 overs in a match that was briefly disrupted by rain. Skipper Faf du Plessis became top scorer with 44 while opening partner Virat Kohli contributed 31. The duo scored 62 in nine overs.

RCB bowlers fired on all cylinders after the innings break and knocked out LSG for 108 in 19.5 overs on a pitch that was slow and made life difficult for the batsmen. The fact that LSG skipper KL Rahul was injured on the fielding and only came to bat after nine wickets fell, and that his team needed 24 out of 8 balls, did not not fixed things. Spinner Karn Sharma and paceman Josh Hazlewood became the top bowlers in the RCB, taking 2/20 and 2/15 respectively.

Not very expensive but still ticket counters which is crucial in Bangalore. He didn’t feature in the squad after Hasaranga entered the XI. You can never have too many leg-spinners in a T20 game, can you? »

Meanwhile, heated exchanges between Kohli and India’s former fly-half Gautam Gambhir – who is now the LSG team’s mentor – were seen after the game, about which JioCinema TATA IPL expert Anil Kumble said no. was not impressed. He said: “A lot of emotions come in but you don’t want to display those emotions here. It’s important, you need to have a conversation. But this is something unacceptable. »

Once a match is over, you have to shake hands and take your hat off, not to the player but to the game because that’s something something to be respected… I don’t know what was said some things may have been personal and you I don’t want that on the cricket pitch But with Gautam and Virat and the players involved it was not not the prettiest thing to see,” he added.

Robin Uthappa also admitted that while he remains a big fan of Kohli, he wasn’t too sure about the ex-RCB skipper’s wild celebrations.
