Skipper RR Samson said he expected something special from Jaiswal and delivered against the five-time IPL champions

Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson hailed Yashasvi Jaiswal on Sunday for his tremendous century against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium. Yashasvi slammed 124 carries on 62 balls as he crushed Mumbai Indians bowlers left, right and center to help his team post a massive 212-7 total. However, the Royals found themselves on the losing side after the collective batting efforts of the Mumbai Indians. Despite the loss, Jaiswal was named Player of the Match as he displayed his class on the big stage.

Skipper RR Samson said he expected something special from Jaiswal and he delivered against the five-time IPL champions in the iconic 1000th IPL match.

“I expected something special from Jaiswal. He scored around 70 goals in the last game, we always thought he (one hundred) was around the corner,” Samson said after the game.

Speaking of Sunday night’s loss, Samson said the team looked for a fight when Suryakumar Yadav counterattacked the bowlers while Tim David played a special move to seal the game for the Mumbai Indians.

“During the downtime where Surya was going on, we were talking about fighting. David did something very special,” he added.

The Royals bowlers were seen wiping the ball after each delivery in the slog overs as Samson said his team had experience playing in these conditions. He suggested bowlers take their time wiping the ball.

“It was a bit wet. It wasn’t too wet and we took our time wiping the ball. We had the experience of bowling in these conditions,” said Samson.

“The way we played either we won or we got closer. Results come here and there,” he added.

“We will continue to focus on the process. We will continue to focus on the controllable ones. We will continue to fight,” suggested Samson.
