Wear: The company’s IT attrition rate continues to decline and was 20.1% on an LTM basis (last twelve months). In the prior quarter ended December 2022, the attrition rate was 21.3%, which was slightly lower than the 21.5% in the quarter ended September 2022.
Hiring: TCS added a network of just 821 employees from January to March 2023 and 22,600 for the year.
Wipro
Total number of employees: As of March 31, 2023, the company’s total workforce stood at 2,56,921 employees.
Wear: Wipro’s voluntary attrition in the March 2023 quarter decreased by 330 basis points from the prior quarter, reaching 14.1% on an annualized quarterly basis and 19.2% on a year-over-year basis.
Hiring: Wipro added about 5,000 employees, mostly engineers, in the last quarter, said Saurabh Govil, president and chief human resources officer. Its CEO, Thierry Delaporte, said: “We will continue to hire (according to business needs). Also, the attrition is going down, we have to take that into account as well.”
Infosys
Total workforce : The company’s total number of employees as of March 31, 2023 was 3,43,234, down 3,611 from the previous quarter’s 3,46,845 employees.
Wear: Infosys voluntary churn (LTM – IT services) was 20.9% year-over-year, showing a declining trend. It had reached 28.4% in Q1FY23, before dropping to 27.1% in Q2FY23.
Hiring: The company added 1,627 employees in the fourth quarter of FY23 (Q4 FY23), which was lower than the previous quarter.
HCL Technician
Total workforce : The company’s total workforce stood at 2,25,944 as of March 31, 2023. This figure is significantly lower than the 11,100 employees hired during the corresponding quarter last year.
Wear: Fourth quarter churn for the quarter was 19.5% on a trailing twelve month (LTM) basis, down significantly from 21.7% in the prior quarter and 21.9% in the same quarter last year.
Hiring: HCL Tech added a net number of 17,067 employees for FY23, which is significantly lower at approximately 57.3% compared to the 39,900 employees added in FY22. The fresher total addition for FY23 was 26,734. Net addition of employees for the full year of FY23 was 17,067 compared to 39,900 in FY22.
